Malfunctioning Of EVM And VVPAT Reported At Numerous Places

Mumbai: The Second phase of 17th Lok Sabha is being held on 95 parliamentary seats today. Many places were reported for malfunction of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and Voter Verified Paper Audit (VVPAT) across the country.

Voting is now been postponed in Assam’s Silchar reasoning to glitches of VVPAT.

“There was a minor setback but now it’s been set. The voters can cast votes now”, Sector Officer (SO) told ANI, a news agency.

To North India in Uttar Pradesh, EVMs are not functioning at Mathura leading voters to get irritated. According to reporters, some went before voting.

The glitch in EVM has caused the date to postpone in polling station number 29 and 134 in Raiganj parliamentary constituency as well as in 261 and 263 number of Bolangir in Odisha.

Due to malfunctioning of EVM, voting in Maniyakarapalayam in Coimbatore is been delayed.

In Maharashtra, Tej, Mazalgaon, Georai, Ashti and Parali are the 5 places of Beed constituency which was reported as a malfunction of EVMs and VVPAT by Beed district magistrate Astik Kumar Pandey.

Pandey added saying that machines have been replaced and voting is now running smoothly.

95 parliamentary constituency from 11 states will go for voting today in 2nd phase.

The polling booth is been held today at Constituency of:

Assam(5), Bihar(5), Chattisgarh(3), Jammu and Kashmir(2), Karnataka(14), Maharashtra(10), Manipur(1), Odisha(5), Tamil Nadu(38), Uttar Pradesh(8), West Bengal(3) and 1 in Puducherry.

The April 11 phase 1 polling recorded 69.43% voters in 18 states and 2 union territories by the Election Commission Of India (ECI).
