Malicious Propaganda For Political Gain: Mamata Banerjee Reacts PM Modi’s Attack Over PM Kisan

Mumbai: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the Centre’s schemes were being ‘blocked’ from reaching his state.

In response to PM Narendra Modi’s comment that West Bengal is withholding the benefits of reaching out to its farmers, Banerjee said that while her government was ‘cooperating, the Centre was stalling’ the schemes.

“This is malicious propaganda. The truth is that the West Bengal government is cooperating, the center is stalled. The fact is that the Modi government has done nothing to help West Bengal. They are yet to release even a portion of the Rs 85,000 cr of outstanding dues that includes unpaid GST dues of Rs 8,000 crore,” Banerjee said.

“Today, the PM, instead of constantly working to resolve his issues, showed a clear concern for the farmers through television addresses. While he publicly claimed his intention to help farmers of WB through his PM Kisan Yojana… the fact is he’s trying to mislead people with half-truth,” she said.

Earlier today, under the Prime Minister Kisan Yojana, Prime Minister Modi transferred Rs 18000 crore to the accounts of 9 crore farmers across the country. In his virtual address after the event, the PM said that Banerjee’s ideology had ‘destroyed West Bengal’. The PM further said that West Bengal was the only state which did not allow the benefits of the scheme to reach its farmers.
