Mamata Banerjee Is “An Outsider” Who Will “Lose And Leave: Suvendu Adhikari Ahead Of Assembly Election

Mumbai: Bharatiya Janata Party leader Suvendu Adhikari on Friday called the West Bengal CM “an outsider” who will “lose and leave”.

His statement comes after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that she will contest the upcoming assembly elections from Nandigram,

Before joining the BJP at the end of last year from the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), Adikari was once a trusted ally of Banerjee. He is an MLA from Nandigram in Purba Medinipur.

“Honorable Chief Minister will contest from Nandigram as per the candidate list. Very well, we welcome it.

However, he challenged the TMC Supremo and warned that he was ready to see him on the battlefield.

“We want the son of Midnapore, not the outsider. We will see you on the battlefield. On May 2, you will lose and leave,” he said.

Mamata on Friday released the full list of 291 TMC candidates for the upcoming elections and announced that she will contest from Nandigram, where she is an MLA from 2011 instead of her traditional seat Bhowanipur.

The West Bengal assembly elections will be held in eight phases from 27 March to 29 April. Votes will be counted on 2 May.
