Man Drugs And Murders Female Cousin, Her 3 Minor Children In UP

Agra: A 35-year-old man allegedly murdered his female cousin and her three minor children after drugging them with sedatives in UP’s Agra, police said.

The incident happened after the cousin publicly “humiliated” the man for not returning ₹2 lakh that he had borrowed from her around two years ago.

According to the police, Rekha had lent Rs 2 lakh to her cousin Santosh Rathore about two years ago. But Santosh could not repay the money on time. Rekha was allegedly harassing him in public for not returning the money.

This prompts Santosh to take revenge on his associates by killing Rekha and her 3 children. Also, Santosh knew that someone had given Rs 4 lakh to Rekha. So, he thought that after killing him, he could withdraw the money.

IG (Agra) Naveen Arora said that Rathore and his two companions, Veeru Valmiki and Anshul Rathore had come to Rekha’s house on the afternoon of July 21. The accused made Rekha and her children drink intoxicants in tea. After this, the trio killed him by slitting his throat with a knife and scissors. Around 4:15 pm, the accused fled with cash, a laptop, a mobile phone, a tablet and jewellery from the house, according to a report by The Times of India.

After receiving information, police initiated an investigation to crack the case. CCTV footage and technical surveillance led the investigators to zero in on the accused. Subsequently, Santosh and Veeru were arrested. Efforts are being made to nab Anshul, who is on the run.
