Man Molests Minor Niece In Mumbai, Threatens To Kill Her Brother

Mumbai: A 34-year-old man has been booked for allegedly molesting his 13-year-old niece in Mumbai, an official said on Wednesday.

The accused also threatened to kill the girl’s 10-year-old brother, who was playing outside their residence when she resisted the assault and tried to raise an alarm.

He said the family lives in a shack in suburban Goregaon (East).

When the victim resisted the attack of her uncle and tried to raise an alarm, the accused threatened to kill her brother, the officer said.

The man fled the spot when the victim’s brother, who was playing outside, started knocking on the door, they said.

When the parents of the girl came to know about the incident, they lodged a complaint with the Aarey police station.

After this, an FIR was registered against the accused on Monday under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO Act).
