Man Shot Baba Siddique Arrested In Uttar Pradesh

Mumbai: In a significant breakthrough, the Mumbai Police and Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) apprehended wanted shooter Shivkumar, along with four accomplices, in connection with the high-profile murder of NCP politician and former Maharashtra Minister Baba Siddique. The arrests took place on Sunday, November 10, 2024, in Nanpara, Bahraich district, UP, an official stated.

Baba Siddique, 66, was gunned down on October 12, 2024, outside his son MLA Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Bandra East, Mumbai. He was struck by two bullets in the chest and succumbed to his injuries shortly after being rushed to Lilavati Hospital.

According to a senior Mumbai Crime Branch official, shooter Shivkumar, along with protectors Kashyap, Gyan Prakash Tripathi, Akash Srivastava, and Akhilendra Pratap Singh, were captured in a joint operation led by the U.P. STF and Mumbai Crime Branch.

Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order and STF) of UP Police, Amitabh Yash, disclosed that Shivkumar was attempting to escape to Nepal when apprehended.

The four other individuals have been charged with sheltering and assisting Shivkumar in his attempt to flee, Yash confirmed. Notably, Shivkumar, alias Shiva Gautam, and accomplice Dharmaraj Kashyap, both in their teens, are originally from Gandara village in Bahraich district’s Kaiserganj area.

The high-stakes operation was conducted with 21 police officers and personnel from the Mumbai Crime Branch in collaboration with the U.P. STF after gathering intelligence on the accused’s movements. The arrested individuals are being transported to Mumbai for further interrogation.

The investigation had previously implicated Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol, who reportedly resides in Canada, as a possible orchestrator behind the murder. However, the exact motive remains unclear as authorities continue to probe all leads.

The latest arrests mark a critical development in the case, with law enforcement agencies working to bring all involved parties to justice.
