Man Takes Wife’s Objectionable Pics Using Spy Cam In Bathroom, Demands ₹20L

Mumbai: In Ludhiana, Punjab, a man allegedly used objectionable pictures of his 23-year-old wife to blackmail her while using a spy camera in the bathroom of his home. The woman told the police that the accused threatened her to circulate the pictures on social media if she did not pay lakh 20 lakh. She said that she posted some pictures as his WhatsApp status.

His wife, who now lives at her parents’ house, told the police that while she was staying in their matrimonial home, her husband, without her knowledge, put cameras in the bathroom and clicked her objectionable photos. Now, using those photos, he is demanding Rs 20 lakh, she said, adding that he has threatened her, saying that he would circulate the photos on social media platforms if she refuses r fails to pay the money

The woman further claimed that her husband had already posted some pictures as her WhatsApp status update, Assistant Sub-Inspector Gurdev Singh said, adding that her husband’s mother and maternal uncle are also involved in the crime, Hindustan Times reported.

Based on the woman’s complaint, the police have registered an FIR under sections 67 and 67-A of the IT Act, 2000. The ASI said that the names of the accused will be added to the FIR after questioning. The police are in the process of arresting them, he said.
