Manohar Parrikar Has Nothing To Do With Rafale Deal: Rahul Gandhi

Mumbai:  Earlier after a holiday tour to Goa Congress president Rahul Gandhi visited Goa Chief Minister and former defense Manohar Parrikar to wish him speedy recovery it was his first meet after the Rafale deal attack made against him.

While now Rahul Gandhi had claimed that Parrikar had explicitly said that there was nothing to do with the “new deal” with Rafael jets. Attacking PM Narendra Modi, Gandhi alleged that the prime minister had a new deal on the acquisition of fighter jets to give “profit” to businessman Anil Ambani.

This statement was made, while Rahul was addressing the rally in Kochi after coming back from the visit to Parrikar, who has been unwell since last year owing to a severe pancreatic ailment, at his office in Panaji.

However, Rahul did not specify it the two had discussed on Rafale deal issue, as Rahul’s visit was meant to be a “personal visit” to the Goa Chief Minister.

While speaking to booth-level party workers in Kerala’s Kochi on Tuesday, Gandhi said, “Friends, the ex-defense minister Mr. Parrikar clearly stated that he has nothing to do with the new deal that was orchestrated by Mr. Narendra Modi to benefit Anil Ambani.”

Previously, the Congress President had alleged that Parrikar had “explosive Rafale secrets that gave the Goa Chief Minister power over the PM”.
