Mayawati Slams Uttar Pradesh Government For Involving 17 OBCs In Schedule Castes

Mumbai: Fresh attack on Yodi Adityanath and his government by BSP chief Mayawati over the decision to including 17 communities of Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the Scheduled Caste (SC) list.

Mayawati said that the verdict is nothing but a cheat with the people of these 17 tribes because they have not got any category benefits because the UP government will not consider them as OBCs.

Mayawati said, “They did not get the benefit related to SC because no state government can put them in any category through their orders or they can not be removed.”

The decision of this effect was taken late on Friday and the authorities were directed to issue a certificate to the families of these 17 castes.

This move is likely to benefit the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which could further worsen the vote base of Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party.

Earlier, both SP and BSP governments tried to include these groups in the SC category but failed to do so due to legal intervention.
