Minor Rape Survivor Gives Birth In Hospital Toilet, Flushes Down Baby In Kerala

Kochi: A minor rape survivor delivered a premature baby inside the washroom of a private hospital in Kerala’s Kochi, police said, adding that she flushed down the newborn.

The minor girl was allegedly raped by a 20-year-old man, ABP reported.

According to a report, on Wednesday, a girl accompanied her mother to a private hospital for a checkup and she felt severe pain while waiting for the doctor. After this she went to the toilet but the baby was born prematurely. So, instead of revealing the incident, the minor flushed the toilet and went back to the scanning room.

However, another patient noticed the fetus in the toilet and informed the police. After this, when the police reached the hospital for investigation, it was found that the minor girl had aborted.

On enquiry, the girl told that she was impregnated by a man and she was pregnant. She also confessed that she gave birth to a baby boy and flushed it down the toilet. The police have registered a case against a Wayanad man on the basis of his mother’s complaint. Police said the girl did not disclose about the affair or her pregnancy which reached the second trimester.
