Mission Mangal Box Office Day 2: Akshay Kumar’s Science Fiction Films Collects Rs 46.44 cr

Mumbai: Akshay Kumar’s film Mission Mangal continued its winning run on its second day as well. On the first day, the film minted Rs 29.16 crore, and made Rs 17.28 crore on its second day, bringing its total collection to Rs 46.44 crore.

The film also stars, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Sonakshi Sinha and Nithya Menen in crucial roles, is off to a phenomenal start at the box office.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures and said that the film is expected to make around Rs 85 crore in its opening weekend itself.

He wrote, “#MissionMangal is unstoppable on Day 2 [the working day after a big holiday]… Multiplexes are terrific, driving its biz… Day 3 and 4 will be massive again… Eyes ₹ 85 cr+ total in *extended* weekend… Thu 29.16 cr, Fri 17.28 cr. Total: ₹ 46.44 cr. India biz.” (sic).

The film is being liked for its motivational content and a performance-oriented star cast. Mission Mangal has been widely promoted across the country. The film’s team conducted interviews in all major cities and also organized activities and special discussions with students and youth. Akshay had also organized a special screening for students of a school in Mumbai a few days ago.
