Mizoram Reports 80 New COVID19 Cases, Tally Rose To 2,607

Mumbai: The Health Department said that Mizoram’s COVID-19 tally rose to 2,607 on Wednesday as 80 more people tested positive for the infection.

Twenty-seven school students, most of them living in hostels, 11 army personnel, and one Mizoram Armed Police (MAP) staff are among the new patients.

The officer said that army personnel and MAP personnel had returned from other states.

He said that the maximum number of new cases were reported in the Aizawl district at 76, followed by two in Lawngtlai and one each in Khawzawl and Saitual districts, he said.

The official said that out of 80 new cases, sixty-two have been sent locally.

The official said that there are now 374 active coronavirus cases in Mizoram, while 2,233 people have been cured of the disease.

He said that the recovery rate of COVID-19 patients in the state is 85.66 percent.

The official said that the state has so far tested 1,07,812 samples for COVID-19.
