Model Who Accused Bhushan Of Rape Booked For Extortion Along With Local Politician

Mumbai: A day after a rape case was registered against T-Series chairman Bhushan Kumar based on a model’s allegation, T-Series lodged an extortion complaint against her and a local political leader.

While a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against Mallikarjun Pujari, leader of Rashtriya Swabhiman Sanghatna, and the model who levelled the allegations against Kumar, no arrests have been made yet.

In a statement issued on Saturday, T-Series said that Pujari, an accused in the case, had approached Bhushan Kumar in June this year and demanded extortion, failing which he threatened the producer a woman would file a case of sexual harassment against him. Soon after, T-Series approached Amboli Police and filed a written complaint against Pujari on July 1.

A few days later, on July 5, Krishna Kumar of T-Series spoke to Pujari and met him at a hotel, in which the political leader allegedly issued a false case of sexual harassment and showed some WhatsApp messages, which claimed that they had been sent by Bhushan Kumar and demanded extortion. Ignoring the demands, Krishna Kumar refused but recorded the conversation in which the priest had demanded extortion.

Senior Inspector Someshwar Kamthe said that on the basis of the complaint given by Krishna Kumar, a case of extortion, defamation, criminal intimidation has been registered at Amboli police station. The complainant approached the police with the audio recording, following which a case was registered.

“We are probing the matter and ascertaining the evidence. We have some evidence in the case and further investigation is on,” Kamthe said.

“Mallikarjuna kept calling the priest Krishna Kumar, but the latter did not accede to his demand for extortion. Realizing that his nefarious designs were yielding no results, Pujari conspired with the woman and demanded extortion from Bhushan Kumar. On July 15, a complaint of rape was filed against the D. N Nagar police station.”

On July 15, the woman had accused Kumar of allegedly raping her on the pretext of promising her a career in the film industry. According to the complainant, Kumar had promised her a role in his upcoming project but never made good on it. DN Nagar Police is investigating the matter. However, no arrests have been made yet.
