Modi Cabinet Porfolios Announced, Dr. Subramanian Jayashankar Is New Minister Of External Affairs
Mumbai: A day after the ministers sworn in, the cabinet ministers were allocated to the departments. The President of India, as advised by the Prime Minister, has instructed allocation of departments between the Ministers.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been handling the Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Ministry, Department of Atomic Energy, Department of Space and all important policy issues. He will also hold any other portfolio not allocated to any minister.
With minor changes now, Rajnath Singh will be the Defense Minister, while Amit Shah will be the Home Minister. Former bureaucrat Dr Subramanian Jayashankar is now Minister of External Affairs.
D V Sadanand Gowda has been handed over to the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. Former defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman will now take charge of the finance ministry and corporate affairs.
HRD has been handed over to Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’. Road Transport and Highways Minister will be Nitin Jairam Gadkari. And there are also Ministers of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
Thaawar Chand Gehlot is the Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment. Tribal leader Arjun Munda gets the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
Ravi Shankar Prasad will continue as law and justice minister, Communication, and electronics and information technology. Harsimrat Kaur Badal gets the food processing industry.
Ram Vilas Paswan has been allotted the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. Narendra Singh Tomar is the Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. He also receives a charge of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Ministries.
UP BJP chief Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey has been allotted the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Shiv Sena MP Arvind Ganpat Sawant is the new Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises.
Prahlad Joshi is the new minister for parliamentary affairs and will also be the coal minister, and mines.
Dharmendra Pradhan is in the form of Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, And steel minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi is the Minority Affairs Minister.
Prakash Javadekar is the Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change; And Minister of Information and Broadcasting Piyush Goyal will be the Minister of Railways and Commerce and Industry.
Smriti Zubin Irani the new Minister woman and a child development minister; And cloth ministers Dr Harsh Vardhan is the Minister of Health and Family Welfare; Science and technology; And earth science
