Modi Government Collecting Money By Hiking LPG Prices: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra

Mumbai: Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday hit out at the Modi government over the Rs 25 hike in the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders.

He said that by showing the dream of the Ujjwala scheme, the collection fund of the central government is flourishing by increasing the price of LPG every month.

Priyanka Gandhi tweeted, “On July 1 this year, the Union government increased the price of LPG cylinders by Rs 25, and on August 17 it has again hiked the price of LPG cylinders by Rs 25. By showing the dream of Ujjwala Yojana, the collection scheme of the BJP government is flourishing by increasing the price of LPG every month.”

Priyanka made these remarks after the Modi government on Tuesday increased the price of LPG cylinder by Rs 25, after which the cost of a domestic cylinder in the national capital will now be Rs 859 per family. The prices have been increased in equal proportion across the country.

This is the second consecutive month that oil companies have increased the prices of domestic LPG. The price of a domestic cylinder on June 1 was Rs 809, which has now been increased to Rs 834 on July 1.
