More Than One Million COVID19 Tests Conducted In A Day In India: MoHFW

Mumbai: According to the Union Health Ministry on Saturday, India conducted one million COVID-19 tests in one day.

 The ministry said, “India crosses 1 million COVID-19 test milestones a day. More than 1 million people have tested in the last 24 hours.”

It also states that there has been a 100 percent increase in the cases recovered in the last 21 days in the country.

According to the graph shared by the ministry, while 10,94,374 patients were recovered on 1 August, the number of recoveries as on 21 August in the country stood at 21,58,946.

“Early detection through in-house isolation and quality medical care, and innovative classified policy measures through monitoring through testing, prompt and effective treatment, have increased almost 100 percent in cases recovered in the last 21 days,” it said.

The recovery rate in the country as of Friday is 74.28 percent.

The ministry had earlier stated that the case fatality rate (CFR) is on a continuous positive slide and currently stands at 1.89 percent.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), the number of active cases in the country as on Friday stood at 6,92,028 in the country, while the toll due to illness was 54,849.
