Motor Mechanic Held For Raping, Impregnating 17-Yr-Old Girl In Gurugram

Mumbai: A 21-year-old motor mechanic was arrested for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl and impregnating her in Gurugram, police said.

He said an FIR was registered at the Mahila Police Station in Sector 51 and the 21-year-old accused was arrested and produced before a city court on Thursday.

According to the police, a woman hailing from Madhya Pradesh had lodged a complaint late on Wednesday evening that a man from the Wazirabad village area here repeatedly raped her daughter on the pretext of marriage.

The girl’s father runs a tea shop and the family lives in a rented house.

“My daughter works as a domestic help in a house. I got a call from her employer, a woman, who expressed doubts that my daughter might be pregnant. I took her to a hospital where doctors confirmed that she was more than four months pregnant,” the woman said in her complaint, according to police.

“We were shocked. My daughter told me that a man who came to our tea stall was raping her on the pretext of marriage. After that, I went with my daughter to the police.”

Following the complaint, an FIR under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act was registered at Sector 51 Mahila Police Station and the accused was arrested, police said.

The accused have been identified as Irshad, a resident of Uttar Pradesh and a motor mechanic, he said.

SHO Suman Sura of Mahila Police Station Sector 51 said, ‘The accused is being produced in the city court and the victim is undergoing treatment.
