MP CM Mohan Yadav Announces ₹5 Permanent Power Connection for Farmers

Mumbai: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday announced a groundbreaking initiative to support farmers, offering permanent electricity connections for just ₹5. The scheme, aimed at easing the burden on cultivators, will soon be implemented by the Madhya Pradesh Central Power Distribution Company.

Major Relief for Farmers

Addressing a gathering of farmers, CM Yadav stated, “Farmers who don’t have a permanent power connection will now get one for just ₹5. Our goal is to improve their lives and eliminate electricity-related hassles.”

Focus on Solar Energy for Irrigation

In addition to the subsidized power connections, the chief minister also highlighted the state government’s push towards solar energy. Over the next three years, the government plans to distribute 30 lakh solar irrigation pumps to farmers. He further announced that the state would purchase surplus solar energy from farmers, enabling them to generate additional income.

BJP’s Infrastructure Development Push

Criticizing the previous Congress government, CM Yadav claimed that villages in Madhya Pradesh lacked proper infrastructure, electricity, and roads before the BJP came to power. He emphasized that under BJP’s governance, the state has witnessed significant improvements in rural development.

This initiative is expected to provide a massive boost to agricultural productivity and financial stability for farmers in Madhya Pradesh, reinforcing the government’s commitment to rural empowerment.
