MP Govt Says Pay Only 50% Of Electricity Bill In MP, 59 Lakh Consumers To Benefit

Mumbai: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced on Monday, that consumers in the state will have to pay only 50% of their electricity bill.

Chouhan said that bills bearing an amount of Rs 100-400 will have to pay only Rs 100, while above Rs 400 will have to pay half of it. This will cost across 183 crore rupees and the government treasury will pay it.

While announcing it Chouhan said that “People have got big electricity bills due to staying at home. Those who have received 100 rupees in the month of April should be charged a 50 rupees bill in May, June, and July. With this, 56 lakh consumers will get the benefit of 255 crores, which we will give from the treasury to the electricity department.”

‘Consumers who have been deferred the fixed charges can pay in 6 equal installments from October 2020 to March 2021, they will get a profit of 183 crores. Those who are depositing on the due date in April and May will also be given 1 percent incentive amount,” he further said.

The chief minister said if the consumers face any problem, they should call the call center. Madhya Pradesh is a temple for him, and people are like God, he will always stay as the Pujari (Priest) for them.
