Mumbai: 12 People Rescued, One Dead In Kurla Building Collapse

Mumbai: According to the BMC, 12 people have been rescued, while one has died in the incident of building collapse in Kurla, Maharashtra.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Additional Commissioner Ashwini Bhide said on Tuesday, “The D wing of Naik Municipal Society collapsed last night. 12 people were rescued and one was declared brought dead. Some people are still trapped.”

According to Bhide, the collapsed building had become dilapidated and notices were served before 2013 for repairs and then demolishing the building.

A four-storey building collapsed in Mumbai’s Kurla late on Monday night. The incident is in the Naik Nagar area.

A fire brigade team and police are present at the spot and rescue work is going on. The fire brigade got a call at 11.52 pm on Monday night.

According to officials, 12 fire engines, two rescue vans, and six ambulances were deployed to take stock of the situation. Besides this, there are five JCBs with 28 labours.
