Mumbai Indians Beats KKR By 9 Wickets, Will Play First Qualifier Against CSK In Chennai

Mumbai: It’s the last match of league stage and still there are no results on which team would end in top four.

Another do or die match for KKR if they lose today their journey will come to end for IPL 2019, whereas Mumbai Indians have already qualified for playoffs if they win today will end up at top slot of the points table.

Toss is one of the most important part of every match especially if your team is playing in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, today the toss went against KKR as Rohit Sharma decided to bowl first.

Batting first KKR got a good start by both openers as Chris Lynn was looking good but KKR lost their first wicket of Shubman Gill as Hardik Pandya dismissed him in his first ball of the spell.

Soon Chris Lynn played a wrong shot and it was an easy catch for Quinton De Kock managed to score only 41 off 29 balls.

Robin Uthappa was continuously facing problem to time the ball well as pressure increased due to which Dinesh Karthik played a wrong shot and lost his wicket to Malinga and it was fantastic to catch by Krunal Pandya in the circle. In the same over Malinga sent the dangerous hitman Andre Russell to the dressing room for the first time in the season he got out at duck.

Nitish Rana was looking good scored 26 off 13 balls but soon lost his wicket as well.

On the other hand, Uthappa was still facing the same problem due to which Mumbai Indians restricted at 133 runs with the loss of 7 wickets.

For Mumbai Indians, Lasith Malinga took 3 important wickets following Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya provided 2 wickets each.

Chasing the small total Mumbai Indian got good start itself both the openers Rohit Sharma and Quinton De Kock looking good for their side lost the first wicket at 6.1 over of de Kock but it didn’t bother much as the total was small.

Captain leading from the front Rohit Sharma played well scored 55 off 23 deliveries

even Suryakumar Yadav contributed well scored 46 off just 27 balls and MI easily grabbed the match in 16.1 over itself and it’s the end of Kolkata Knight Riders for this season and Sunrisers Hyderabad qualified for playoffs.

First qualifiers will be played in Chennai, where CSK will take on MI and second eliminator will be played in Vizag were DC will take on SRH.
