Mumbai Man Dies By Suicide After Female Friend Doesn’t Receive Phone Call

Mumbai: A 24-year-old man allegedly died by suicide in Mumbai after his female friend did not receive his phone call. Police added that the man and his friend had attended a late-night party with friends.

The deceased has been identified as Manav Lalwani. A senior officer of Trombay police station Siddheshwar Gove told the media that the victim and her female friend had attended the party with friends late in the night.

“Upon reaching home after the party was over, he tried contacting her on phone. However, she did not pick up the call. Upon repeated failure to contact her, he died by suicide by hanging himself,” the police officer informed.

On Tuesday morning his parents saw him hanging on the ceiling and informed the police.

The victim’s body has been sent for postmortem. The CCTV footage is being examined for further investigation. A case has been registered and the statement of the girl has been recorded.
