Mumbai Reports 425 New COVID-19 Cases, 2 Deaths; Active Tally At 5,098

Mumbai: Mumbai reported 425 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases in the city to 7,48,593. With two COVID-19 fatalities reported yesterday, Mumbai’s death toll stands at 16,164.

Mumbai’s doubling rate has also increased to 1,087 days, while recovery and weekly growth rates remained steady at 97 per cent and 0.06 per cent.

Maharashtra also saw a slight increase in the number of Covid cases on Tuesday, registering 2,069 new infections and 43 Covid deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 6581,677 with 1,39,621 deaths so far.

According to BMC officials, the city is in a much better position than anticipated due to the COVID-19 scare.

The senior health official of the city health department said, “I would say we are in a better position where I would add a comfortable position but not in a safe zone. The period till October 30 is crucial so that we can fight Covid-19 after the festive season. Will be able to understand the spread pattern.”
