Mumbai: Maharashtra’s capital Mumbai overtook China in coronavirus positive cases and deaths.
According to official figures, Mumbai currently has 85,724 coronavirus positive cases and 4,938 deaths. In China, the total number of deaths is 4,634 and the number of positive cases is 83,565.
In addition, China records fewer cases of new digits every day than reported in the Dharavi region of Mumbai. However, it should be noted that various strict measures by state and civil governments have ensured that Asia’s largest slum is not a COVID-19 hotspot.
News agency IANS reported that Mumbai has been registering more than 1,100 new positive cases daily since 1 July.
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Mumbai’s recovery rate is 67 per cent. The overall growth rate of cases in Maharashtra’s capital is 1.60 per cent.
