Mumbai Woman Tries To Stop Man Who Snatched Her Phone, Falls Off Local Train

Mumbai: A 49-year-old woman, while trying to stop a robber who stole her mobile phone, fell off a running local train in Mumbai. The incident took place at Mahim railway station.

The incident happened on Monday. The accused, who has a previous criminal record, was nabbed by the passengers, who were alert to the shouts and uproar.

The incident took place at 6.38 pm on platform number 6 of Mahim railway station, while the victim Priyanka Khodke was on her way to Dadar station.

Khodke, a resident of Badlapur, works as a clerk in a ration office in Santacruz. She took a train from Santacruz station on the Western Railway line and was going to Dadar station on the Central Railway line to take a train to Badlapur.

As soon as the train left, he climbed into the compartment, snatched Khodke’s phone and jumped from the moving train.

Khodke tried to catch him and during this, he fell from the moving train. He has suffered serious head injuries. Alerted by his cry, the other passengers caught hold of Khan. He was handed over to the police patrolling the spot.

During this, Khodke, who fell on the platform, was taken to the Sion Government Hospital. He is in an unconscious state and is being treated for a head injury. The police have recovered his damaged phone, which is worth Rs 15,000, from the spot.

There are three to four cases of robbery and theft registered against Khan, a resident of Matunga Labor Camp.

Based on the complaint of a police officer, Khan was booked under sections 394 (causing hurt while committing dacoity) and 338 (causing grievous hurt endangering the life or personal safety of any person) of the Indian Penal Code in the Mumbai Central Government Railway. FIR was registered. , Has been recorded. Police (GRP) Station.

After his police custody ended, Khan was sent to judicial custody and lodged in a jail where he will remain till the court grants him bail.
