Muslim Community Not Named In CAB Even Once: Amit Shah

Mumbai: Presenting the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in the parliament, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the name of the Muslim community is nowhere mentioned in the CAB 2019.

After repealing the bill, Amit Shah responded to a member of the opposition bench saying that the name of the Muslim community has not been recorded even once in the bill. You cannot distort and introduce it to the House, who alleged that the bill is discriminatory against the community.

The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2019 seeks to grant Indian citizenship to non-Muslim refugees from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

Through this bill, Indian citizenship will be conferred on members of Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian communities who came to India from three countries till December 31, 2014, so that they can be terminated for treatment. Illegal immigrants in the country.
