Namo TV Goes Off Air Before Lok Sabha Polls Counting

Mumbai: According to media reports Namo TV has gone off the air before countings. Prior to the general election process in March this year, the channel had made its way smoothly on various service provider platforms.

The free-to-air channel, funded by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), attacked the Opposition, who called it a publicity machine for broadcasting interviews of PM’s rallies, interviews, government schemes and interviews of other BJP leaders. Reports say that it closed on the 19th of May some days before the final phase.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi had tweeted “From Electoral Bonds & EVMs to manipulating the election schedule, NaMo TV, “Modi’s Army” & now the drama in Kedarnath; the Election Commission’s capitulation before Mr. Modi & his gang is obvious to all Indians. The EC used to be feared & respected not anymore.”
