Nawab Malik Did Business With 1993 Mumbai Blast Convicts: Fadnavis

The expose came after the Nawab Malik had released photos of Fadnavis and his wife Amruta with an alleged drug dealer

Mumbai: A raid on a cruise by the NCB last month has lined controversies and fight between political parties in Mumbai.

Maharashtra Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday levelled serious allegations and exposed links of NCP leader Nawab Malik with ‘Underworld convicted in 93 Mumbai bomb blast case.

Addressing the media, Fadnavis said, “Nawab Malik has dealings with people from the Underworld people convicted in ’93 Mumbai bomb blasts case. He purchased land from convicts of the case on rates cheaper than market rates. Was this deal to save prime land from being forfeited under TADA law?”

Fadnavis claimed, “I have five property deals documents. Of these, four properties belonging to the underworld have been purchased. I will hand them over to the appropriate officer, be it police, ED, NIA.”

This comes after the NCP leader Nawab Malik had, earlier this month, released photos of Fadnavis and his wife Amruta Fadnavis with an alleged drug dealer Jaydeep Rana, adding that Fadnavis “appears to be the mastermind” of the illegal drugs trade in Maharashtra.

At the beginning of the press conference, Devendra Fadnavis said that what he is telling is not the story of Salim Javed or the film after the interval, but the issue related to the security of the nation.

Devendra Fadnavis gave two names, one was Sardar Shah Wali Khan, who is the culprit of the 1993 bomb blasts and was given life imprisonment. He had got RDX loaded in Tiger Memon’s vehicles.

The other person was Mohammad Salim Patel, he was Dawood Ibrahim’s man and the head of Hasina’s entire business (land possession). The former CM further alleged that after Dawood’s escape, properties were accumulated in Hasina’s name.

Fadnavis also asked Nawab Malik to explain Why did you buy land from the criminals of Mumbai? The former CM further said that TADA was imposed on these culprits at that time. As per the law, the property of the TADA convict is confiscated by the government. Was the TADA accused’s land not confiscated, so it was transferred to you?

Fadnavis said a prime plot on LBS Road in Kurla was bought at a meagre sum of ₹30 lakh when the market rate was ₹2,053 per square feet in 2005 in the vicinity. “The deal was carried out when Malik was a minister in the previous Congress-NCP government,” he added.
