NCP leader Ajit Pawar Gets Clean Chit In Irrigation Scam

Mumbai: In a huge relief for NCP leader Ajit Pawar, Maharashtra’s Anti-Corruption Bureau has provided him clean Chit in irrigation scam.

The affidavit presented on November 27 in the Bombay High Court stated that the Chairman of the VIDC (Ajit Pawar) cannot be held responsible for the acts of the implementing agencies, as there is no legal duty on their behalf.

The new affidavit states, “In relation to approving the liability of tender cost including updated cost, it is revealed during an investigation/investigation that: Only note-sheets were sent for grant of liability for tender cost. VIDC President of the corporation by the executive director.”

“In most cases, the Executive Director of the VIDC has allowed for the updated cost of the tender work, being within 5 percent of the updated tender cost, as it has the right to accept the tender at 5 percent above the cost,” it said.

“The proposals for an acceptance of liability for the entire tender cost were being submitted to the Chairman with the recommendation of the Executive Director. In some cases, the recommendations were also made by the Principal Secretary of the Department of Water Resources who is ex-officio Managing Director of the Corporation.”

Earlier, it was reported that Ajit Pawar betrayed his uncle, NCP chief Sharad Pawar during irrigation days and joined hands with BJP leader and former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

The irrigation scandal dates back to the time when Ajit Pawar was the irrigation minister of Maharashtra in the Congress-Nationalist Congress Party government. Ajit Pawar was accused of irregularities in the projects awarded by his ministry. These allegations claimed that Ajit Pawar gave projects at inflated prices.
