Need More Efforts To Improve Situation In Kashmir: Sachin Pilot

Mumbai: A day after Rajasthan-based truck drivers were killed by two militants in Shopian, state Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot said on Tuesday that people need to consider whether the claims made in Kashmir about the situation Going, whether they are right on the ground or not.

“I was deeply saddened to learn about this incident. I believe that more work needs to be done to improve the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Without politicizing the case, I believe that all of us should consider what claims are being made. Whether or not the situation is right on the ground, ”the pilot told the media here.

“I want to express my condolences to the family of the person. We stand with them,” he added.

Speaking on the Rajasthan government’s decision to discontinue the pension scheme granted under the MISA to his widows during the Emergency or to the widows, Pilot said the scheme was scrapped because the cabinet saw it as an act of political protection.

“We believe that the scheme was launched to give political patronage. Everyone respects the freedom fighters of the country,” he said.

Two terrorists, including a suspected Pakistani national, shot and killed the driver of a Rajasthan truck and assaulted a garden owner in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. The incident occurred after the resumption of post-paid cellular services in Kashmir after 72 days.
