New Agriculture Norms Will Boost Opportunities To Farmers, Bring More Investment: PM Modi

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that the new agrarian reforms of the Centre will bring new possibilities for farmers, and with the development of technology in farming, there will be more investment in the area.

“Agricultural reforms will provide new markets and opportunities to farmers, they will benefit from technology. This will bring more investment in agriculture and this will benefit the farmers the most, especially the small farmer,” PM Modi said.

He said that farmers in India can today sell their produce on local markets as well as digital platforms.

“Today, farmers in India can sell their produce in and out of markets. Farmers can also sell their produce on digital platforms. We are taking all these initiatives to increase the income of farmers and make them more prosperous, ”the Prime Minister said.

Modi said policies of the past promoted inefficiencies in many areas and prevented new experiments, adding that the AtmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan promotes efficiency in every sector.

“Emphasis is being laid to re-energize technology-based industries in sectors in which India has a long-term competitive advantage,” he said.
