Night Curfew Imposed In Delhi From 10 pm To 5 am Till April 30

Mumbai: In view of rising coronavirus cases in the national capital, the Delhi government announced on Tuesday that night curfew will be imposed in the city with immediate effect.

The night curfew will be from 10 pm to 5 pm every day until 30 April, that is, the end of the month.

The night curfew was announced a day after 3,548 new coronavirus cases were registered in Delhi on Monday. A total of 15 fresh deaths also occurred on Monday.

Delhi’s positivity rate is now 5.54 per cent, while the cumulative positivity rate is 4.54 per cent.

There are a total of 6,79,962 COVID-19 cases with 11,096 mortality in Delhi. As of Monday, the city had 14,589 active COVID -19 cases. Recoveries have risen to 6,54,277.

On Sunday, Delhi had recorded 4,033 new coronavirus cases – the highest single-day spike in the city since December 4 last year.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and requested him to ease the norms for opening vaccination centres. He also sought the removal of the age criterion for getting inoculated against coronavirus.

Kejriwal wrote to the PM that his government can get all Delhi residents vaccinated within three months if the necessary permissions are granted by the Centre.
