Nitish Kumar Tenders Resignation As CM Ahead Of NDA Meeting

Mumbai: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday submitted his resignation to the state governor Phagu Chauhan.

The ruling NDA won a majority in the Bihar elections and both BJP and JD-U announced that Nitish Kumar would continue as chief minister if the alliance wins the election.

The BJP won 74 seats, JD-U 43 and the NDA’s two other constituents won eight seats.

A meeting of the NDA parties will take place on 15 November.

Nitish Kumar told media persons on Thursday that he had not made any claims and that the decision regarding the leader of the ruling coalition in the state would be taken by the constituents.

He said that the people have given the mandate to the NDA and it will form the government.

“I have not made any claims, the decision will be taken by the NDA, he said when asked who will be the chief minister.”
