No Farmer In UP Will Have To Pay Electricity Bills For Next 5 Years, Says Amit Shah

Mumbai: Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said that farmers of Uttar Pradesh will not have to pay electricity bills for the next five years after the party comes to power.

Addressing a public meeting in Uttar Pradesh’s Dibiyapur, Shah said, “Holi is on 18th (March), counting of votes is on 10th, bring BJP government on 10th, the free gas cylinder will reach your home on 18th March. There will be no farmer to pay the electricity bill for the next five years.”

Expressing confidence of the BJP’s victory in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, Shah said after the first and second phase of elections, the Samajwadi Party has been wiped out from the state.

“The Samajwadi Party has been wiped out. Western Uttar Pradesh has laid the foundation of the BJP government with more than 300 seats. This majority has to be increased further in the third phase,” he said.

Taking a jibe at Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, Shah said, “Akhilesh (SP chief) asks what have we done? If someone has yellow glasses, they will see everything in yellow color… Akhilesh More bullets were made for the government of Pakistan, now ‘Boli’ is made instead of ‘Boli’ to shoot ‘against Pakistan’.”

Two phases of polls in Uttar Pradesh have concluded, while the state will have another five phases of polling. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
