No IPL 2020 Matches Or Any Other Sports Events In Delhi During COVID-19: Delhi DY CM

Mumbai: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has said not to host any Indian Premier League (IPL) matches in the city amid the outbreak of Coronovirus COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is preparing to have an IPL Governing Council meeting on Saturday to discuss the fate of season 13 and has invited all the franchisees for it. However, it seems like the Delhi government has already made its stance clear on the matter.

Sisodia said during a news conference on Friday, “We have decided to ban any sporting activity where people will congregate in large numbers like the IPL. Social discrimination is necessary to curb the breakdown of coronavirus.”

Sisodia said that no seminar, conference or any big event will be allowed in Delhi with more than 200 people.

The Aam Aadmi Party minister cited the example of South Korea where 30 people should have been elected to continue the social gathering. Later, it was an infected 31 person who spread the virus.

“The 31st person later spread the virus to 10,000 people. In Delhi, we are doing everything to stop it. At the moment, the biggest solution is social disturbances, ”said Sisodia.
