Not A Day Goes By Where Muslims Don’t Get Targeted: Owaisi

Mumbai: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi called BJP an anti-Muslim party and said that BJP has announced war against Muslims. He also targeted the Samajwadi Party of Akhilesh Yadav for saying that the SP would defeat the BJP in Uttar Pradesh.

In Uttar Pradesh, he said that he shouted and said that they didn’t have the power to change the BJP government.

“What happened? The same useless politics played and the BJP government came back to power. If you would have elected your (Muslim candidates) then the candidates would have fought for you,” he said.

The Hyderabad MP further asked where are those leaders who said that they have to change the government in Uttar Pradesh.

“Today the 50-year-old structure of 100-year-old madrassas was demolished in UP, but the Samajwadi Party will not speak,” he said.

The AIMIM chief further said that not a single day goes by when Muslims are not targeted. He also referred to the demolition drive in Jahangirpuri, where violence broke out after stone-pelting on the Hanuman Jayanti procession.

Owaisi said that in Jahangirpuri, the Delhi BJP President wrote a letter to the people saying that they pelted stones and bulldozers entered the next day.

However, the MCD clarified that its action was against the encroachers and that shops or properties of both communities were demolished. The Supreme Court had stayed the drive just hours after it began.

The AIMIM chief’s remarks come just a day after a PFI leader said that the Muslims were being targeted by the BJP and RSS and that people would have to make sacrifices to fight them.

The Opposition parties too recently targeted the BJP saying recent violence in some states was aimed at dividing the society.
