Odisha Reports 386 Fresh COVID-19 Cases, 5 Fatalities

Mumbai: A Health Department official said that Odisha’s COVID-19 Casillad climbed 3,6,299 people on Wednesday, with 386 people testing positive for the virus, while five recent fatal incidents caused the coastal state’s coronavirus death 1,789.

28 out of 30 districts were traced to fresh cases.

Including the state capital Bhubaneswar, Khurda district recorded the highest number of 50 single cases after Sundargarh (47) and Mayurbhanj (31).

He said that during the last 24 hours Koraput and Nabarangpur districts did not register any new infection. So far, a total of 53 COVID-19 patients have died due to comorbidities.

In Khurda district alone, 306 deaths have occurred so far, followed by Ganjam (245), Sundargarh (151), Cuttack (137), and Puri (110). Twenty-five other districts reported fewer than 100 fatal incidents.

There are now 3,487 active cases in Odisha, while 3,16,970 patients have recovered from the disease. It has tested over 62.50 lakh samples for COVID-19, including 36,419 on Tuesday.

The positivity rate according to the data released by the department is 5.16 percent.
