Odisha Slashes School Syllabus By 30 Percent

Mumbai: The Odisha government on Wednesday announced that the school syllabus up to 12th standard will be reduced by 30 percent for the current academic session.

School and Mass Education Minister Sameer Ranjan Dash said the decision was taken because schools are closed across the state due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

He declared that the announcement was based on the recommendation of three committees for this purpose.

The new syllabus will be available on the official website of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), and the State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT).

Block education officers and district education officials will inform the schools about the government’s decision, Dash said.

On reopening the schools, the minister said that the matter would be considered after the Center issued a directive in this regard.
