Omicron Cases In India Jump To 1,431, Govt Releases State-Wise List

Mumbai: Omicron COVID-19 variant cases in India jumped by 161 in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases to 1,431. Maharashtra has recorded the highest number of 454 cases,

The number of cases crossed the 350-mark in Delhi, with the national capital reporting 351 followed by, Kerala 118 and Gujarat 115 Omicron cases.Omicron’s proliferation has cut short New Year’s celebrations this year. Metro cities are its primary targets, which is why the police have imposed strict restrictions in Delhi, Mumbai and other metro cities.

Meanwhile, more than 20,000 daily COVID-19 cases have been recorded in India after 84 days as 22,775 people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours. India’s active COVID-19 caseload currently stands at 1,04,781.
