One District One Problem, Total solution Should Be Ideology: PM Narendra Modi To IAS Officers

Mumbai: Interacting with IAS officers on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary PM Narendra Modi called upon the young IAS officers to work together for the nation, saying silos and hierarchy don’t help the system.

He called on the IAS supervisors to work together to fulfill the central government’s vision to make India a USD 5 trillion economy by 2024-25. PM Modi was quoted as saying by PTI, “Let us work towards making India a five trillion dollar economy.

He asked them to solve one problem in their field of posting at a time. “I suggest that you tackle one major problem of your area of posting at a time and try to solve it completely – it means ‘one district, one problem and total solution’.”

“This course is beginning, nation-centric and future-focused. This will introduce a paradigm shift in governance, which will prevent people from working on silos. Instead, people work together more broadly, ”said PM Modi.

“He also said that no bureaucracy should be seen as a punishment but as an opportunity. “The presence of silos and hierarchies does not help our system. Whoever we are, wherever we are, we have to work together for the nation.

“Let us change the way we see things.” Even something like a changed vocabulary helps. First people kept talking about backward districts. Today we call it Aspirational District. Why should any posting be a punishment posting? Why was it not seen as an opportunity? The PM said.

He asked the IAS officers to work continuously to make the lives of people easier. “It falls on our shoulders to make the lives of the people of India easier. We must work actively on this. We should ensure that no ordinary Indian needs to fight the government in his daily routine.”
