Mumbai: In a bid to control the crowd, only 15,000 people can visit Mussoorie in Uttarakhand during the weekends, Dehradun DM Dr R Rajesh Kumar stated.
“Only 15,000 people can visit Mussoorie during weekends. It is mandatory for the visitors to carry RT-PCR negative report, not older than 72 hours,” Dehradun District Magistrate R Rajesh Kumar said on Thursday.
Significantly, earlier this week, three cases of ‘AY 2’ Delta Plus variant of the corona virus were confirmed in Nainital district.
Of the 15 samples sent to the National Centers for Disease Control (NCDC) in July for detection of the Delta Plus variant, three confirmed the presence of the sub-variant ‘AY2’. However, the patients have fully recovered from the infection.
However, the mutated version of the SARS-CoV-2 virus has not been found in any of the samples, said district health officials.
Meanwhile, Pauri Garhwal district reported its first case of the sub-variant on Monday, putting the authorities on high alert.
