Only A Muslim Player Is Being Targeted, Will BJP Government Condemn It?: Asaduddin Owaisi

Fans took to Instagram and Twitter to question the Indian player's integrity due to his Muslim identity, after the defeat against Pakistan

Mumbai: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi has questioned the BJP government that will they condemn the racial online abuse towards Mohammed Shami after the Men In Blue suffered a defeat against arch-rival Pakistan in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

“Md Shami is being targeted on social media for yesterday’s match, showing radicalization, hatred against Muslims. In cricket, you win or lose. There are 11 players in the team but only a Muslim player is targeted. Fans took to Instagram and Twitter to question the Indian player’s integrity due to his Muslim identity and passed derogatory statements on Mohammed Shami.

Virat Kohli (57) and Rishabh Pant (39) helped India post 151/7 in 20 overs. The pair led the recovery for the team after Pakistan reduced them to 36/3 in the powerplay.

Mohammad Rizwan (79*) and skipper Babar Azam (68*) put on a remarkable show on Sunday as Pakistan thrashed India by 10 wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

India will next square off against New Zealand on Sunday, October 31, while Pakistan will take on New Zealand on October 26 Tuesday.
