Osama Bin Laden’s Son And Al-Qaeda Heir Hamza Killed By US: DonaldTrump

Mumbai: US President Donald Trump confirms that son of Osama Bin Laden, Hamza, was killed in a US “counterterrorism operation.” The death of Bin Laden’s possible successor was reported earlier this year.

“Hamza bin Laden, a high-ranking al-Qaeda member and son of Osama bin Laden, was killed in a United States counter-terrorism operation in the Afghanistan / Pakistan region,” a statement from Trump’s office sent to reporters Saturday.

Hamza’s death has deprived al-Qa’ida of his “critical leadership skills and his father’s symbolic relationship.” Within al-Qaeda, bin Laden’s son was “responsible for planning and dealing with various terrorist groups,” he said.

Hamza bin Laden died in airstrikes in late July for the first time. Subsequently, Trump said the man was a “great threat” to America, but declined to provide any further details. With the official confirmation of Hamza’s death, however, it is still unclear when and where – the American operation occurred at all.

Hamza made his last known statement through al-Qaeda propaganda in 2018, calling for Saudi Arabia to threaten terrorist attacks and overthrow the Saudi monarchy. The son of the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, born around 1989 in Jeddah, was long wanted by the FBI, offering up to $ 1 million for information about his whereabouts.

According to media reports, Hamza was born as the daughter of another senior member of al-Qaeda, Abdullah Ahmed Abdullah, better known as his alias Abu Muhammad al-Masri. The man wants to go to the 1998 embassy in Kenya and Tanzania for his alleged role.
