Pahalgam Will Be The Last Attack, PM Will Eliminate Pak: Shinde

Mumbai : Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has issued a strong statement in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, expressing full faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and declaring that “Pakistan will be eliminated” in response to the killings.
Speaking to reporters today, Shinde said, “Our countrymen have full faith that this will be the last attack. PM Modi will avenge the killings of innocent tourists by Pakistanis.” He referred to India’s past military actions under the Prime Minister’s leadership and asserted that this time would be no different.
Shinde recalled how PM Modi had “avenged the Pulwama attack and carried out surgical strikes” following earlier terror attacks. “There have been a lot of attacks in the past, but no such reply was given before. Today, under PM Modi, we have a leader who gives a befitting reply,” he said.
The comments come as public anger mounts over the April 22 attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, where 26 civilians, mostly Hindu tourists, were gunned down by terrorists linked to the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba.
India has already initiated several strong non-military measures in response:
• Suspension of the Indus Water Treaty
• Closure of the Attari border crossing
• Revocation of visas issued to Pakistani nationals
Denial of airspace access to Pakistan-owned airlines
The government has also signaled the possibility of a military response. Following high-level meetings of the Cabinet Committee on Security, Prime Minister Modi is said to have authorized the armed forces to respond decisively. Shinde’s remarks reflect growing expectations across political and public spheres for a strong reply.
Shinde added, “This country is united. We have the strength, the leadership, and the will. This will be the final message to those who support terrorism.”
India’s past military actions following cross-border terrorism include the 2016 surgical strikes after the Uri attack and the 2019 Balakot air strikes following the Pulwama suicide bombing.
