Pakistan Uses Terrorism As Tool Of State Policy: Army Chief MM Naravane

Mumbai: The 28th General Chief Manoj Mukund Naravane gave the slogan to Pakistan that if Islamabad does not stop state-sponsored terrorism, India has the right to a pre-emptive strike on terror threat sources with multiple spectrum options.

The new Army chief was present during Chief of Defence Staff(CDS) General Bipin Rawat’s guard of honor apart from Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria and Navy Chief Karambir Singh.

Further talking to ANI he said that operational readiness is not a one-time thing.

“It is an issue which we have to keep working on day after day, month after month to be able to maintain those high standards and operational readiness comes as a result of modernization, better equipment, good tactics and strategy, good morale of the men, all of that goes into maintaining a high standard of readiness, so that would be my main aim,” ANI quoted him as saying.

Speaking on the newly created CDS post he said that it will greatly change the way the armed forces are operating to bring about significant reforms in the entire military system.

In his 37 years of service, General Narwane has served in several command and staff appointments in peace, territory and a highly active counter-terrorism environment in Jammu and Kashmir and the Northeast.

The General holds the distinction of holding key command and staff appointments in both peace and territory in the North-East and Jammu and Kashmir and has been a part of the Indian Peace Keeping Force in Sri Lanka and has commanded the National Rifles Battalion, raising an Infantry Brigade. Have done, As Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) and also commanded a prestigious strike corps.
