Shami was subjected to online abuse after India suffered defeat against arch-rival Pakistan on Sunday. Fans took to Instagram and Twitter to question the Indian player’s integrity due to his Muslim identity and passed derogatory statements on Mohammed Shami.

On Monday, Sachin Tendulkar, former India pacer Irfan Pathan, Yuzvendra Chahal, Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag and all-rounder Yusuf Pathan also condemned the online abuse against Shami.

Virat Kohli (57) and Rishabh Pant (39) helped India post 151/7 in 20 overs. The pair led the recovery for the team after Pakistan reduced them to 36/3 in the powerplay.

Rizwan (79*) and Babar (68*) didn’t give any chance to India bowlers to come on top as the two batters dominated the proceedings and broke the jinx of losing streaks against India.

This was the first time that India has lost a T201 by 10 wickets. Coincidentally, this is also the first time that Pakistan has won a T201 by 10 wickets.

India will next square off against New Zealand on October 31.
