Panchayat Junior Clerk Exam Postponed In Gujarat Due To Paper Leak

Mumbai: The Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board has postponed the examination for junior clerk’s recruitment, scheduled to be held at 11 am on Sunday, after the question paper was allegedly leaked.

“On the basis of the information received by the police, a suspect Isam was arrested and a copy of the question paper of the said examination was recovered from him. Criminal police action and further investigation is underway,” informed the Gujarat Panchayat Services Selection Board, Gandhinagar.

A fresh examination will be conducted as soon as possible, the date of which will be announced by the board soon.

“In the larger interest of the candidates, it has been decided by the Board to ‘Postpone’ the Competitive Examination scheduled to be held on 29-01-2023 at 11-00 AM, all the candidates are requested to take note of the above reasons Every candidate is advised not to come to the examination center. The sadar exam will be held afresh at the earliest, the date of which will be announced by the board shortly,” the board added.

The students and their parents, who reached Jamnagar center to take the exam, expressed their disappointment and anger, demanding strict action from the government against the culprits.

Notably, a total of 26,882 students had registered for the exam in Jamnagar while over 7,00,000 were expected to appear for the exam across the state.

However, over 9.50 lakh candidates had registered for the exam and free return travel in GSRTC buses was announced for the candidates, informed the Chief Minister’s Office.
