Mumbai: Hitting out all the rumours here, Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrakant Patil on Monday said that BJP leader Pankaja Munde is not leaving the party.
Patil dismissed reports in a section of media which claimed that she may quit the BJP.
In the state assembly elections to be held on October 21, Pankaja Munde, who is the daughter of late party chief stalwart Gopinath Munde, is contesting from her cousin and NCP rival Dhananjay Munde from Parli seat in Beed district.
“BJP leaders are in touch with Pankaja Munde. She is introspecting after her defeat, but that does not mean she is leaving the BJP,” Patil told reporters here.
Pankaja Munde removed all the details from her Twitter bio, including the words ‘BJP’ and her political journey, a clutter with her social media post on her “future journey” in view of the changed political scenario on Monday Maharashtra after making.
Also, in her three recent tweets posted on 28 November, he congratulated the new Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, but not the government formed by Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress.
She was previously a minister in the Devendra Fadnavis-led government.
In her Facebook post on Sunday, she invited her followers to Gopinathgarh on 12 December to mark the birth anniversary of her late father. Gopinathgarh is the memorial of Gopinath Munde in Beed.
“Looking at the changed political scenario in the state, there is a need to think and chart the way forward. I need some 8-10 days to communicate with myself. Our future journey should be against the backdrop of current political changes. Need to decide,” she wrote in her Facebook post in Marathi.
“What to do next? Which path to be taken? What can we give to people? What is our strength? What are the expectations of people? I will think about all these aspects and come before you on December 12,” she posted.
She also wrote that she accepted her defeat in the elections and went ahead.
“I attended party (BJP) meetings,” the former Parli MLA said on Facebook.
