PCB Should Worry About Security In Their Country: BCCI’s Mahim Verma

Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Mahim Verma on Tuesday criticized Pakistan Cricket Board President Ehsan Mani and said that he should first worry about security in his country.

Verma told ANI, “They should first look at security their own country and think about it first. We are capable of handling our country and security.”

On Monday, Mani said that India is a far greater security risk than Pakistan. His remarks came after Pakistan won the Test series over Sri Lanka.

cricketpakistan.com.pk quoted Mani as saying, “We have proved that Pakistan is safe. At this time, India is a far greater security risk than Pakistan.”

She said, “After the success of Sri Lanka Test series, no one should doubt the security system in Pakistan. This is a turning point for the revival of Test cricket in Pakistan. Media and fans played an important role in portraying a positive image of Pakistan worldwide,” he added.

Test cricket returned to Pakistan after ten years and the team managed to win in front of their home audience after almost a decade.

In 2009, the Sri Lankan team went to the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore for a Test match with Pakistan after militants fired indiscriminately on their bus. Eight people were killed and seven Sri Lankan players and staff were injured in that attack.

Since then, international cricket has ruled Pakistan out for a tour of the entire country without a high-profile team.
