People Of Gujarat Will Get Spurious Liquor If They Vote For BJP: Kejriwal

Mumbai: AAP national convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said that spurious liquor is being sold openly in Gujarat. Kejriwal is on a one-day visit to the state and is slated to address a public rally and offer prayers at a temple in Rajkot in Gujarat’s Saurashtra region.

“At present, people of Gujarat have two options, either they’ll get spurious liquor if they’ll vote for them (BJP) or they’ll get employment if they vote for us. Electricity, school, and jobs will be the issues now. Spurious liquor is being sold openly in the state,” Kejriwal said.

Kejriwal was referring to the tragedy of illicit liquor in the BJP-ruled state, which resulted in the death of 42 people in the past few days. AAP was one of the first opposition parties to criticize the BJP asking why and how liquor was being served in dry conditions.

“Gujarat is a dry state. Still, in 15 years, 845+ people have died after drinking poisonous liquor. Such a big organized network has been running under which politicians? The government is incurring a loss of 15,000 crore due to liquor prohibition, but it is being sold openly. So in whose pocket is this money going?” AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj had said while lashing out at the ruling party.

This is Kejriwal’s second visit to Rajkot and fourth to Gujarat in recent times. Assembly elections are due in the state later this year and AAP is hopeful that the BJP will get a tough fight in its stronghold.
